AMERICAN REVOLUTION ADVENTURE ~ 3½ hour field trip with a costumed colonial guide, 10 am-1:30 pm, Mon.-Sat., includes 1-mile train ride aboard the SR&J "Benjamin Franklin Special", all ages welcome, meets CA Curriculum Standards.

“Turn out! Turn out! The Redcoats are coming!" Experience life in 1700’s Colonial America at the time of the Revolution. Learn about courageous contributions made by real American men and women. Travel with George Washington on a wintry journey. Help Henry Knox in the wilderness bring vital supplies for the American army. Join the crew of a small American ship as it makes frantic repairs to return to challenge the Royal Navy. Will you sign The Declaration of Independence? Witness Paul Revere’s Ride, colonial farming, making "hasty pudding", colonial handicrafts, and so much more. Bring a sack lunch and be prepared for an adventurous and memorable day!

American Revolution hands-on activities include, but are not limited to: 

• Serving as a crew member aboard an American Revolutionary War ship.
• Witnessing Paul Revere's Ride and helping spread his urgent message.
• Trekking through the wilderness to learn about one of George Washington's incredible journeys.
• Trying a colonial craft: candledipping, leatherworking, tin punching.
• Making "hasty pudding" and other colonial home life activities.
• Learning the special importance of the Declaration of Independence and writing your name with quill pen and ink like the original signers.
• Enjoying a 1-mile train ride aboard the SR&J Railroad "Benjamin Franklin Special".

Cost ~ $14 per person. One free adult for every 15 students. Parents are encouraged to attend. Please have one person handle money and tickets. Advance reservation is required.

A group size of 20 or more and a 10% nonrefundable deposit is needed to reserve a date.  Please phone 760-765-2288 to check on program availability. (If your group is under 20 people, your group may be added to an existing date at $15 per person.)
